INPOLITYOUNG: Influencers, Youth, and Politics in the Digital Age

INPOLITYOUNG: The role of influencers in the political socialisation of young people in Spain

Today, young people between the ages of 16 and 24 no longer rely primarily on traditional media for information. Platforms like YouTube and TikTok have become central in their daily lives, and digital influencers have emerged as key reference figures. What impact does this have on how they understand politics and society?

This is the starting point for INPOLITYOUNG (The role of influencers in the political socialisation of young people in Spain), a project funded by the la Caixa Foundation's Social Research Call 2024.

Led by Mercè Oliva at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, the project aims to analyze the role that content creators play in the political socialization of young people in Spain.
